You don't learn, do you? Restaurant that charged tips "a la brava" is closed down.

Fonda Encajosa.- PROFECO closed a restaurant that required tips to be included in diners' bills.

The business in question, called La Leyenda Restaurant Bar & Concert Hall , located in the city of Puebla, imposed mandatory tipping, which not only violates current regulations throughout the country, but also greatly annoys the entire population.

Tipping will end up being banned at this rate.

So PROFECO arrived to verify and found that the establishment was indeed adding tips directly to diners' bills, a practice expressly prohibited by Article 10 of the Federal Consumer Protection Law. But of course, business owners believe it "doesn't apply to them."

The report on the establishment's modus operandi was allegedly made by a customer who, after eating at the restaurant, fell victim to the "special tax" and decided to file a complaint with the federal agency.

In addition to this restaurant, the same owner had three other businesses in the capital of Puebla, which, taking advantage of the return, were also inspected and closed down after it was found that they were doing the same thing: adding tips "a la brava."

@Profeco suspended three restaurants in the historic center of Puebla for suggesting tips and not displaying prices. Among them was Café Tres Gallos, which also restricted the use of certain bills. The action followed citizen complaints. #Puebla #Profeco pic.twitter.com/8nZfFvMGX8

This whole situation surrounding tips alone is leading to the immediate adoption of a law to ban them completely and thus put an end, once and for all, to this controversial and perennial issue.

In case you missed it: it's now known that Karla Panini's husband "cheated on her," and that's called karma.
